A former journalist, I’ve been writing about paint and interiors since 2007. I graduated with honors from The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a B.F.A. in interior design, and I’ve received multiple industry awards for my work, including a Design Excellence Award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and first place in a Gensler Design Challenge.

I also hold an M.A. in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.F.A. in English from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Before pivoting to a career in design, I wrote extensively about art, food, restaurants, and interiors. My writing has appeared in San Francisco magazine, The Wisconsin State Journal, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Madison Magazine, among other media outlets.
